Challenge
The end user fased the challenge to reliably identify VPN users. Employees and external associates, which had access to corporate resources, were using the basic username and password security model.
Solution
TeleGroup cyber security team had implemented two-factor authentication solution (2FA) as an extra layer of authentication and verification of VPN users, giving would-be hackers two levels of protection to crack. Reducing the dependency on passwords, improved the user experience and ultimately decreased vulnerability throughout the network.
The solution is based on OTP (One Time Password) tokens protected by PIN code, which provide one-time password for authentication. Integrated with existing IT infrastructure, our solution greatly decreases the chance for a successful attack.
Result
- Reduced credentials theft risk
- Secured additional level of protection on hardware tokens using PIN, which reduced the possibility of unauthorized attacks to minimum
- Possibility of application of two-factor authentication for logging in web applications, desktop computers, transaction verification, physical access to facilities, etc.
