TeleGroup is sponsoring an international cybersecurity hackathon
Supporting the development of female talents careers in Cybersecurity field
Jobs in the field of information security are today considered among the fastest growing jobs in the world. In the United States, cybersecurity jobs are expected to grow up to 31% by 2029, far outpacing growth expected in other areas. The UK will need
to hire 2 million additional engineers to meet the demand of cybersecurity experts up to 2025.
The importance of information security in the modern age was recognized by TeleGroup back in 2011, when we launched our Infosec conference and together with our experts and partners made efforts to raise awareness of the public about the importance of
information security. Aware of the lack of staff in this area, we try to encourage young people to educate through various manifestations. We are honored to support International Female Students Hackathon, which will be held online in the period from 12 to 13 May organized by AFA (global
community dedicated to economic empowerment of women through innovation and technology).
Hackathon will gather promising female talents from STEAM and business faculties in Switzerland and Serbia. Our colleague Kristina Knezevic, Head of Program Management, will be mentoring one of the teams, with the aim of transmitting her experience and to guide students during their work in the field of information security.
Students will have the opportunity to cooperate with peers of similar interests and will be encouraged to cooperate, learn from each other, but also from mentors working in large technological companies from Serbia and Europe.
Only 20% of all employees in Cybersecurity areas are women. Given that the equal involvement of men and women is essential for economic prosperity, we will work through our Infosec conference and these and similar organizations to prevent the deepening
of the gender inequality gap in the labor market and encourage young talents to become more involved and build their careers in the Cybersecurity area.
